This was my last story that I ever produced for Wildcat Weekly. Payton and I worked together to make the senior goodbyes. They turned out so well, I loved making this story. We struggled a lot with timing. I wish we had more time to make it longer, but we had a very strict time limit. Overall, this story turned out very well. I loved making Wildcat Weekly stories this year, and I feel like everything turned out very well.
This is my last time hosting Wildcat Weekly. It was a very bittersweet show for me, especially because it was my last one as a Coordinating Producer. My hosting had to be filmed twice because the first time it was too sunny and it was not the best quality. I could have used it, but since it was my last time hosting I did not want to settle. I refilmed it and ended up loving the second version of it, which made me very happy. Editing this show together, there were very many struggles because people procrastinated more than they ever have. As a last show, I feel like it went well, other than some struggles that I faced. I loved being a Coordinating Producer and I learned so much.
This was a Pulse I created that was a recap of the Neuqua Honors Ceremony. This Pulse was probably my least favorite. I dislike the fact that my shots are all very shaky. I did not use a tripod because I was moving around so much, and that affected my story a lot. I should have used a tripod for my shots. My natural audio was good, and my voice overs all flowed well and told the story very well. If I could do this again, I would use a tripod to fix up this story!
This was our April Fool's show. I did not do a story for this show, but had a great time planning and producing it. I was very involved with each reporter as they created their stories. We took a long time to plan in detail how the jokes would play out, and everything ended up turning out great. Everyone put a lot of effort into these stories, and I feel as if this was a very strong show. I had a lot of fun while given the opportunity to create the April Fool's show, and I feel like it was very real and tricked many people.
This is a Pulse I did based on the Freshman Taboo Tournament. This is an annual event that many people tend to forget about. Everyone has participated in it, so doing this Pulse was a good refresher for upperclassmen. I don't feel as if I faced any struggles while producing this story. It was short, sweet, and to the point which is what makes a good story. I like that I did this story because it was easy for me to film in my own advisory. I should have filmed in other advisories, but I was unable to leave my advisory. Overall this was a fun story to produce.
For this show, I did a story on Special Olympics Swim. This was one of my favorite stories to produce because I got to work with the athletes while producing the story. I also loved filming and editing it because I was helping out with the event. I struggled to have the camera quality look good on the pool deck. The fluorescent lighting affected my b-roll, so I filmed more than one day. I feel as if I did a good job with this story, and I really put in extra effort to make it great. Again, putting this show together went well. Everyone's stories were good and there were no serious problems.
This was a Pulse I did based on the Orchesis partner dance. This was a very fun story to produce. Filming it was exciting because everyone was having so much fun. I struggled a bit with writing my voice overs. I felt like there wasn't a lot to say regarding the dance, so I should have had a different story idea that would have made it work. I wish I had used some footage from previous shows of the partners actually on the stage. That could have added some unique dynamics to my b-roll. Overall I enjoyed making this story for Orchesis, and I feel as if it got the word out about what the Partner Dance really is.
This was Group A's first show back from break. I did a story on Orchesis, along with editing the show together. The story on Orchesis is one of my favorites to do, especially since I was on the team. I enjoyed filming all of my friends and recognizing them through Wildcat Weekly. I struggled with my interview shots. I did not like how they turned out, and I wish I redid them to make them higher quality. Overall, I liked the story that Liam and I produced. Show wise, I think everyone produced really great stories. Everyone met their deadlines and it turned out to be a very solid show.
This was the final Wildcat Weekly show before Winter Break, so it would be a holiday themed show. I did a story in this show with Emma Smith, which was based on a dog shelter, Wags 2 Wishes. I really enjoyed the story that we did. The interview shot was unique, and I liked all of my b-roll of the dogs. I should have done more wide shots of the establishment. Overall, the show as a whole turned out well. We did the hosting in my house by the tree. I put a lot of effort into the hosting and the other holiday qualities of the show, which brought the show together as a whole. I enjoyed the stories that everyone did for the show and I am glad it turned out so festive.
This was my second Pulse story, based on Orchesis Dance Company performing in a local dance showcase. I enjoyed this Pulse story because I am in Orchesis, so it was fun to do a story on a company that I am in. I did not include enough information about the showcase as a whole. If it were a Wildcat Weekly story, I would have included more about the showcase and what it is all about. Overall, this was a strong Pulse story that I enjoyed making. In the future, I will add more information where it is needed.
This was my second Wildcat Weekly show as a Coordinating Producer. I did not do a story with this show, but I still put in a lot of effort making sure each story was put together well. Although there were some stories that did not meet expectations, overall it was a good show. There were some people that did not put in enough effort towards their stories, which showed. There were some audio problems throughout the show, so it was definitely a learning experience for the news reporters as a whole.
This was my first Pulse story of the year, which I based on another media student. It was focused on how he was invited to partake in a national film festival. I liked my interview shot with Cole that was in the actual media hallway with students editing. It was a unique location compared to the hallway. I struggled with the audio in the interview. For some reason, the audio comes in and out randomly. That could have been problems with the lav, or it could have been my mistake. Overall, I liked this Pulse story because of the unique components it held within.
This was my first Wildcat Weekly show as a coordinating producer, so I had different responsibilities compared to last year. Along with hosting, I also was responsible for putting the show together. As a host, I succeeded with my lines and my personality on camera. I wish I could have added more to it, like more unique shots, but I liked it regardless. As a C.P., putting my first show together was difficult, along with making sure everyone's stories were good. It was a lot of responsibility within 2 weeks, but I feel as if I succeeded as a leader and a news reporter.
